Wakely Engineering have entered into a partnership with Agrimont to distribute there Augers throughout Ireland & the UK. Agrimont is located in the Czech Republic and have for the passed 20 years have produced quality Augers.
Agrimont specialise in the Manufacturing of mobile & reloading Screw conveyors, These Augers have being designed to transport all types of granular material from Seeds to Sand.

These Augers significantly reduce the loading & unloading time when granular product is being transferred, eg When loading seeding & Fertilizer machines, Transferring grain from trailer to Storage point,or as a cost effective alternative to Chaser bins. The mobile version is particularly suited to storing Grain in Silo’s.

There are three separate Models to choose from,

The machine is capable of processing any animal feed stuff with the Minimum amount of operator adjustment. The degree of crush is adjustable using one touch level mechanism’s. The capacity of the machine (depending on product & moisture content) varies from 65 Tonnes of Maize 35% M/C to 37 of Barley at 35% M/C.

The bagpress can also be used for the storage of unprocessed cereals.

A major decision when a farmer is considering to purchase a Roller mill is whether to opt for Solid Chilled Rolls (S.C.R) or hollow Rolls.

Wakely Engineering LTD was established in 1979 and have consistently used S.C.R in all there mills, This is due to a number of factors.

Roll characteristics.

S.C.R are manufactured from a high grade cast iron, utilizing the double pour Centrifugal cast technique.

Hollow rolls are generally manufactured from Mild steel.

S.C.R Results in.

Long operating lifetime & Roll surface will not be marked/chipped by stones or mild steel bolts. More maintenance for hollow rolls,Roll replacement, Re fluting, When under pressure hollow rolls tend to flex in the centre and results in an unsatisfactory crush, A consistent product is not possible using hollow rolls.

Roll Hardness.

Some manufacturers fabricate their rolls from 12-30mm Mild steel tubing, Wakely S.C.R have a hardness of 50/54 Rockwell to a depth of 30mm & cannot be marked by a file.

S.C.R Results in.

S.C.R have a extremely long roll lifetime, This is due to the Roll characteristics, Roll hardness and the depth of hardness, The rolls can be Skimmed and Re fluted numerous times. Hollow rolls will not hold there fluting edge and needs constant maintenance.

Maintenance.

As a result of the previously mentioned advantages, The maintenance of S.C.R is kept to a minimum, Re fluting is typically carried out after 25000 tonnes depending on the application. Mild steel & Case hardened rolls require servicing & re fluting throughout the season.

S.C.R Results in.

Less Maintenance & down time with a consistent product.

Operator Comfort.

An important factor to consider, The operator can be effected in two main ways (A) Noise levels (B) Vibration levels.

Non S.C.R have by far the highest dB levels & most noticeable Vibration levels, This is caused by the hollow nature of the rolls (Drum effect). In many cases when using hollow rolls & case hardened rolls,it is necessary to force the rolls together to achieve a satisfactory output & finish

S.C.R do not touch & are completely solid, Vibrations are almost eliminated.

S.C.R Results in.

Increased operator Comfort & Efficiency.

Cost.

The initial purchase cost of S.C.R is higher when compared to hollow rolls, However this investment is easily recouped over the operating lifetime.

S.C.R Results in.

75% less Maintenance/Down time, More energy efficient & Less diesel used (where applicable)

Versatility.

Stones & bolts which come into contact with the rolls, will not cause any damage or effect the output of the machine. These rolls are utilized in many different industries from food preparation to mining and other heavy industries.

Wakely Engineering is introducing an updated version of the 1240 mobile crimper mill for the Cereals 2011. This is a high output machine geared mainly towards the contractor market.

The Wakely 1240 crimping mill has been in production since 2004. The new 1240 is the result of many years of field trials with experienced users.

The new 1240 has many enhanced features and functions. Like the previous machine it can crimp and roll oats, barley, corn, wheat, maize and beans for livestock feeding however, it now has a much enhanced output of 85 tonne per hour making it the ideal for the busy Contractor. At Wakely Engineering we use only solid chilled rollers that are manufactured by the German company Leonhard Breitenbach in all our Mills.

Wakely Engineering have invested in an in-house fluting facility offering our Customers a wider choice of roll finish for optimal output results across a range of product types. The rollers are balanced to a degree that vibration is almost eliminated resulting in a very low vibration machine, which in turn extends the mill life and improves the working environment.

The new 1240 machine has 40% greater throughput capacity now up to 85 tonnes per hour of crimped grain compared with the older machine. If is fitted with a 4.5 tonne capacity feed hopper which is about 3.5 metres from the ground for easy loading access with a tractor or industrial type loader.

The double rollers are mounted on high quality spherical roller bearings in a plummer block unit. The roller drive gear drive is immersed in a grease bath.

Each machine is now fitted with an RDS Technology hydraulic calculator which has been shown to be efficient in moisture crimped grain throughput calculation and is extremely user friendly.

The new 1240 machine provides easier access for roller and scraper adjustment and maintenance. The machine has an easily changeable magnet magazine that provides for metal detection and removal of any material being rolled or crimped.

This is a mobile machine with a tandem sprung axle. The Wakely 1240 comes with an option of air brakes or full hydraulic braking kit and road legal lights.

Crimping is a system that enables farmers to harvest, process and store their own or locally grown cereal and protein grains for use as animal feed when they are at their maximum nutritional value and digestibility.

Grains are harvested up to four weeks earlier than normal at moisture contents of 30 to 45%. They are then processed through a crimping machine which crushes them to expose the carbohydrate and/or protein and a special preservative is applied.

The processed feed is then ensiled and can be fed after three weeks airtight storage. Because grain is harvested earlier, before losses occur in the field, and is utilised more efficiently by livestock when crimped than when it is processed in more traditional ways, land use and animal health and performance are significantly improved.

The impact on the environment of livestock feed production is greatly reduced because there is less need to transport animal feed over long distances.
